Christmas used to come early in Highland lakes, New Jersey. My parents had a group of friends that would get together and throw a party in the middle of the summer to serve as a mini reunion and a reminder of the joy that we all feel around the holidays. When I approached adulthood, I became friends with some of these summer revelers and enjoyed one couple's company immensely. The husband was a lover of music and writing and he and I—despite our age difference—could talk about lyrics for hours.
This morning I am reminded of those simpler days. My head is swimming with the joy of playing a new song over and over while relaxing in the relative silence that is 6:00 AM in our household. It doesn't matter if you love the new Pearl Jam track, The Fixer, it only matters that you have something that turns you on when you put your headphones over your ears. Something that transports you back in time and peels away your adulthood. Christmas in July via music.

Can't wait for the album. Super song!
