In case you live under a rock or in another hemisphere, we had the storm of the millennium here in Washington, DC over the weekend. It was a wonderful time of neighborhood camaraderie, childlike frolicking and childhood memories. 23 inches of snow is a lot for any city, especially this one, and it saddens me to think that my children may never see a storm that big again.
Unofficial measurement...um, about waist deep.
Really Dad? 33 inches in 1996? Hmmm.

Joe, I'm optimistic the girls will see another biggin' in their lifetime. It took almost 31 years for me, but it happened. On Feb. 28, 1979, my hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri was buried in 24 inches of snow. I was six years old and missed an entire week of first grade. It was heaven.

There are no tracks out to where Annie is standing. Either she has an incredible broad jump or you threw your child out into a snowdrift. Hmmmmm...

Will Tilda be sporting that mullet for Christmas? It really makes me feel old when I see a fashion fad return for a 2nd time!

the picture with the snow up to the waist is great. I can't believe that much snow landed anywhere not ending in Dakota.
We're freezing right now in Chicago, about 4 degrees, but not a ton of snow in 2010...yet. Happy new year by the way.
